Haptic Feedback

AISLA can provide feedback to users via touch. This is known as haptic feedback. We have developed a haptic wristband with four haptic motors (or 'buzzers') that are used to communicate directional guidance and other messages to a blind user.

Here is the first version of the haptic wristband. It is worn so that the electronics sit on the lower arm.

The components of the haptic wristband. The controller is an AdaFruit Feather board and we use a ULN2003A driver to run the haptic motors. Communication with the AISLA software is via Bluetooth.

The second version of the wristband has an enclosure for the electronics and a more robust band than version 1.
